My Son sanctuary – A world cultural heritage site
My Son located in a secret narrow valley among dense forests is the most grandiose temple tower complex of Champa people. My Son used to be a group of more than 70 temple towers, continuously built for more than 1000 years from the 4th century to 13th century. Each temple has a typical architecture reflecting a historical stage of the Champa kingdoms. Due to natural disasters and war-related damages, only about 20 of these temple towers still exist at My Son.
In December 1999, Hoi An ancient town along with My Son were recognised as the world cultural heritages by UNESCO.
