Located in Duy Phu Commune, Duy Xuyen District, 45km West of Hoi An City and 70km South of Da Nang City, My Son Sanctuary comprises more than 70 temple-towers, continuously built from the 4th century to 13th century. My Son site has remarked the prosperous development of Champa civilization, presenting historical, cultural and architectural values. It is often compared with other historical sites in Southeast Asia, such as Angkor (Cambodia), Pagan (Myanmar) and Borobudur (Indonesia).
According to the archaeological evidence, My Son is the home of the Hindu gods at the centre of the universe and hence Gods worshiping as the main belief in here.
On December 4th 2009, My Son sanctuary was recognized as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
