Various snake-themed artworks captivate travellers to the 500-year-old Thanh Ha pottery village in Hoi An (Quang Nam) in the days preceding the Lunar New Year 2025.

A pair of ceramic cobras made by Thanh Ha artisans are on exhibit on the pavement at the entrance to the pottery village. Because of their beauty, these snake mascots are attractive to local and international travellers who stop to take photos.

Thanh Ha pottery village, 3km from Hoi An centre, boasts 500 years of history. For Lunar New Year 2025, six snake mascots were made to decorate its entrance road, delighting visitors.

This year, Thanh Ha pottery village offers a range of snake-themed products, including terracotta sculptures and toy figures created for visitors, in addition to snake mascots that are on display along the streets.

The process of creating these products is meticulous, involving plaster moulds and clay shaping, with eight items made daily. Each is sold for VND 70,000 following two days of drying and burning.
