Tam Thanh is a coastal commune located to the southeast of Tam Ky city, nearly 15 km from the city's administrative center.
Within the framework of the strategic plan for Tam Ky city development with the participation of the community with the support of the United Nations human settlement program (UN Habitat), in June 2016, the Fund The Korean International Exchange organizes the implementation of the Korean - Vietnamese community fine arts exchange project in Tam Thanh commune, Tam Ky city. Trung Thanh mural village was formed with 100 vivid works depicting people's lives and showing the cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the world and becoming the first mural village. in Vietnam.
The success of the mural village is an important basis for the development of the city's tourism service industry, a premise for the formation of the Tam Thanh Community Art Village project. In 2017, the first and most successful art road project of basket boats set a Vietnamese record with 111 baskets and 60 oars. Followed by products of Bach Hoa Village, No Trash Village, "Tam Thanh Eyes" observation tower and other landscape installation art areas forming Tam Thanh Community Art Village tourism products. With its attractive and distinct beauty, in July 2017, Tam Thanh Community Art Village won the Asian Landscape Award.
With that effect, from 2018 until now, Tam Ky City People's Committee continues to implement the Tam Thanh Village mural art project on walls and basket boats at other locations in Tam Thanh commune.
The number of visitors to Tam Thanh increased sharply, especially international visitors.
