Van Ha traditional carpentry village is 8 km northwest of Tam Ky city, in Phu Van village, Tam Thanh commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam. Is a famous carpentry village in Quang Nam and has been 300 years old. This is a craft village specializing in the construction of Ruong houses or traditional houses of the Vietnamese people, which has a great influence on the architecture of the provinces and cities in the region. The decorative patterns and details on the trusses made by Van Ha workers often lean towards the mountain theme, while Kim Bong worker prefers the sea theme. Kim Bong is strong in furniture, and beautiful houses are mainly made by the craftsman Van Ha, including Chien Dan Communal House which is also the finished product of the carpenter of Van Ha village. For Van Ha carpentry village, the workers in the village specialize in wooden houses, antique houses, and single-rotating tables (The table rotates by itself, the people of Van Ha village call it a "single-rotating table" (a single-pillar and rotating table). The old tools made this table to worship in the yard, when you want to rotate the directions to worship the earth god... then use your hand to rotate it for convenience, without having to rearrange the furniture.At the same time, this table is also called “Magic Table” because it has the ability to rotate by itself with the touch of a human hand.
In particular, in the village, there are many old houses with typical architecture, such as: "Three Nhi Ha Thien", "Three Gia Tu Ha", "Five compartments and two ancient gables"... with sophisticated carvings. There is a house full of jackfruit wood, it takes 3 years to complete. Recently, craft lovers of the carpentry village established a complex, promoted the development of the craft village and was recognized as a traditional craft village by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province in 2013.
