Built about 200 years ago, Tan Ky’s architectural style is typical of Hoi An’s ancient houses. Its interior is divided into many apartments, and each one has its own function. The front of the house would have been used for business as a shop-front, while the back of the house was near the river for receiving and sending out goods. The interior decor was made from valuable wood, skillfully carved with symbols of dragons, fruits, the eight weapons, and silk fillets showing the wealth of its owners. On 17th February 1990 Tan Ky house was listed as a national historical-cultural relic.
