Kim Bong Carpentry village is about 02 km from Hoi An center, 50 km from Tam Ky city and 30 km from Da Nang city. Kim Bong Carpentry is formed from 15th century by first Vietnamese people of the Northern delta and Thanh –  Nghe – Tinh provinces for their settlement in Cam Kim, Hoi An. 
In the late 16th and the early 17th centuries, Kim Bong carpentry developed vigorously due to the prosperity of Hoi An port. In the 18th century, the carpentry became a handicraft village of three groups: ancient architectural construction, civil wooden furniture and shipbuilding.
